Philippine Web Design Conference for Students

Image
With my 4 years in college, this is the first time that a National Web Design Conference will be held. Scheduled this February 11, 2012 at AMV-COA Multipurpose Hall, University of Sto. Tomas, I'm sure students who are aspiring to be web designers will have an ample to prepare for this event.

Junior function() & .class (JFFC) will be the first web design conference for students in the Philippines, organized by UST TomasinoWeb (TomWeb) and the Philippine Web Designers Organization (PWDO). JFFC is the student counterpart of PWDO’s function() & .class which is the first community-organized web design conference in Asia.
The JFFC conference aims to gather students around the country who want to develop their potential in the field of web design by learning from professionals and to interact with web design enthusiasts as well (http://tomasinoweb.org/jffc).

Filipinos Unite to Run for Education on 2012

Image
Run, even for one day! Help, just for one day!

Calling again all runners and non-runners to take part of another fun run with a noble cause of helping 150 public schools over the country by providing computer laboratories and other educational needs of the students. Let's help alleviate poverty in our nation by educating our children. Be part of the solution!

In fact, of all the running events I plugged in my blog, I never had the chance to participate even once. I think this is the time, January 22, 2012 to run and prove myself that I can run and at the same time, help the children in their quest of quality education.
The event will take place in nine different locations, namely National Capital Region, Puerto Princesa City, Cebu City, Tacloban City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Davao City, Butuan City and Cagayan de Oro City with expected 200,000 runners to unite in one day for one goal.

Global Engagement Summit

Image
What is GES? GES, founded in 2005, is completely student-founded, student-organized, and student-run by a team of 50-60 Northwestern undergraduate students. Through our annual Summit, yearlong programming, and staff curriculum, we build the capacity of the next generation of global change makers. Delegates and staff come together to understand the challenges of and opportunities for their engagement; to hone the skills and mindsets that will enable them to better plan, execute, and participate in change-based projects; and to connect with like-minded peers from around the world. GES is the only conference of its kind for students, as it not only provides them with the tangible skills and resources to move beyond good intentions towards action, but also equips them to think more critically about their efforts and ask the right questions when going out and making change in the world.

The Summit Every April, approximately 80 student delegates from universities across the globe come to North…

Not to forget, I would like to thank Mr. Mark "Tanom" Monta for founding and successfully organizing the Best Cebu Blogs Awards with the working committee and all the people who helped in the establishment of the awarding body.
